There does not appear to be any slow down in the government providing assistance through SR&ED tax credits; grants, or interest free loans.

Here are the most popular grants being applied for now by companies:

  1. Canexport – this program funds 50% of third party marketing costs to enter a new foreign market
  2. IRAP – it seems IRAP has funding to cover roughly 50% of an eligible project’s R&D costs. One client just received funding for over $500K
  3. Repayable Contributions – programs like the Jobs and Growth Fund provide non-interest bearing loans. This type of program seems to benefit companies that are expanding, and would like to either reduce traditional bank financing, or the dilutive affects of equity investments
